A couple years ago, my best friend decided she was going to start dividing people into Hogwarts houses. She has a talent for rightly reading people, so she could do it quite well. Only problem was that she had never read the Harry Potter books so she didn’t know too much about the houses, other than the traits for each which she found online. When she first told me she sorted me into Hufflepuff, I was floored! There’s a tendency to think Hufflepuff is the misfit house, and that its students don’t have many impressive qualities. I immediately assumed my friend put me in Hufflepuff because I wasn’t ambitious enough for Slytherin, courageous enough for Gryffindor, nor intelligent enough for Ravenclaw. My friend explained to me that she actually sorted me as such because Hufflepuffs were just, loyal, hardworking, and amazing friends. As silly as this sounds, it was nice to know I was sorted there for a reason other than I just didn’t fit anywhere else. In fact, because of her reasoning, I found I was proud to be a Hufflepuff, and now I think it’s the best house of the four. I know there are people who would disagree with me, but they would be wrong. I mean, J.K. Rowling herself would be a Hufflepuff...so, there. :P
And there’s my fan-girl post for the day. :D
